Things to See and Do When Visiting Phalgaam
Pahalgam is associated with the annual pilgrimage to the shrine Amarnath Yatra. Chandanwari, located 16 kilometres (9.9 mi) from Pahalgam. The town is the starting point of the yatra that takes place every year in the months of July–August, receiving hundreds of thousands of tourists.

One of the most beautiful valleys in Pahalgam is Aru Valley. Aru Valley is known for its lush green meadows, pristine landscapes, and snow-capped mountains. It offers breathtaking views of the Himalayas and is a haven for nature lovers and adventure enthusiasts.
Betaab Valley gained prominence after the Sunny Deol and Amrita Singh starrer film, Betaab, was shot here in 1983. Thus, the valley was named after the hit film. The valley falls on the way to the famed Amarnath temple yatra and is one of the three stunning valleys of Pahalgam, the other two being Chandanwadi and Aru.
The valley is named after the Lidder River, which flows through it. The river, with its crystal clear waters, adds to the beauty of the surroundings. One of the most popular activities in the Lidder Valley is river rafting. The Lidder River offers thrilling rapids that are perfect for a thrilling adventure.
Kolahoi Peak proudly claims its title as the highest peak in the Great Himalayan range. From the icy embrace of Kolahoi’s glacier emerges the lifeblood of the region, the Lidder River Pahalgam. Meandering southward, this tributary is a vital source for both drinking and irrigation in south Kashmir.
This is the best tour on the east coast! It was amazing how many places we visited and what great memories we made!
This was not our first time going to here. It is a great place to shop not too far from New York. We took the bus from Port Authority and traveled through the countryside to get there.
We always stay at here when in town. The location is great, staff is wonderful and we love the overall feel. Beautiful view from the here.
